Academic Board and Council Steering Committee constitution

The University of Western Australia is governed by the University of Western Australia Act 1911. The 21-member Senate is the University's governing body, empowered with the authority to make statutes, regulations and by-laws, while the Academic Board is the chief academic body. The University has four faculties and is led by a Vice-Chancellor and an Executive.

The Academic Board and Academic Council Steering Committee has a constitution and a defined membership.

Constitution

1. The role of the Academic Board and Council Steering Committee is to advise the Chair of the Academic Board on the facilitation of the flow of business to the Academic Board and Council.

2. The committee comprises:

(a) the Chair of the Academic Board as Chair;

(b) the Deputy Chair of the Academic Board;

(c) the Associate Chair of Academic Board;

(d) the Academic Secretary.

 

3. The Academic Secretary is the Executive Officer of the committee.
